In January 2010,  engineer brothers Kevin and Eric Cluff decided to stop talking about social business and do something.  With water purification technology developed by their father, Dr. Brent Cluff, they created H2O for Humanity.  Funded with personal savings, a home refinance, and a seed grant from the Deshpande Foundation, Kevin and Eric launched in five villages in Karnataka, India, and a sustainable social business was born.

As of December 2015, H2O for Humanity's water technology is operating in 150 villages serving over 140,000 customers every day.
